Family relationship

An only daughter to my parents and wife to a doting husband, I was domineering at work and in my personal life. I worked 12 to 14 hours daily. Whenever stressed, I lost my temper. Impatient with people who walked slowly in front of me, I would overtake and bump them intentionally. To release tension, I spent money on name-brand goods and binging on food and alcohol. With this lifestyle, I hit 89 kilograms (196 pounds).

For 3 years, I had difficulty standing up after squatting. This made me dread using public toilets. Even at home, I needed to hold on to the support handle to stand up after using the toilet. In December 2015, I attended the 8.5-Day Health and Happiness Retreat. On the fourth day of class, I realised I could squat and stand easily. It was great news to me!

Through my mother’s recommendation, I watched the “Bodhi Meditation Youth Camp” video, hoping to regain the happiness that I lost and strengthen my leadership capabilities so that I could become a student leader. Through the camp, I made many new friends and everyone was happy to learn from each other. After the camp, I received the good news that I was selected to be one of the student leaders in my school’s hockey team!
